When you have no choice!
When you have no choice. Sometimes there are some things that you just have to do, like it or not. Whenever Lawrence became ill there were many things I had to face and do and I would often tell myself, Sherry you have no choice. In the past 2 years every day there have been things I never imagined taking care of on my own but I say to myself, you have no choice. Yet this morning I realized I did have a choice in the midst of my circumstances and always will. I had the choice not to do it alone. Every day we have the choice to invite and ask God to do life with us. He wants to be right there in every circumstance, always our helper, our friend and our counselor. When I thought I was certainly going to drop dead when I walked into the church for Lawrence's funeral to asking God to help me fix the toilet God was right there beside me leading, guiding and helping me. All I did was ask. It's the most important choice I make every day. I may not have a choice but I never have to do it alone! Wow! Isn't God good?

Just Saying!

Did you know the Bible says what you say has a great impact on your life. It actually says death and life are in the power of the tongue. That's a pretty profound thing, wouldn't you say? One of my daily scripture confessions is Psalm 141:3 asking the Lord to set a guard over my mouth. Sure sometimes I blow it but believe me I'm so much better with his help. May our words be filled with life today! What say you?

How Do You Feel Today?
The world says, if it feels good do it. God says, if I say it do it (no
matter how you feel) and it will feel good. I was asked many years ago
to what did I attribute my faith. I thought for a minute and gave this
simple answer. I just believed what God said, I did it and it worked.
What's God telling you to do today? Go ahead, you've got this!

Surprise me Lord
I pray for surprises. I'm not sure why or when I
started asking God for them but I love it when he surprises me. Never in
my life have those surprises meant as much as during this season. From
the time Lawrence and I started this journey to just this week God has
used these little surprises to remind me of his love and nearness. This
is an excerpt from an article I read recently and it's so true. And
thank you everyone for all those little surprises. They are wonderful!
Love shows up in unexpected ways.
This is a mystifying pattern after trauma, particularly for those in
broad community: some near-strangers reach out, some close friends
fumble to express care. It’s natural for us to weigh expressions of love
differently: a Hallmark card, while unsatisfying if received from a
dear friend, can be deeply touching coming from an old acquaintance.
Ultimately every gesture of love, regardless of the sender, becomes a
step along the way to healing. If there are beatitudes for trauma, I’d
say the first is, “Blessed are those who give love to anyone in times of
hurt, regardless of how recently they’ve talked or awkwardly
reconnected or visited cross-country or ignored each other on the
metro.” It may not look like what you’d request or expect, but there
will be days when surprise love will be the sweetest.

IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL
Do you find yourself today in a place you may have never thought you
would be? For some of us it's beyond our greatest expectations, for some
the unthinkable has happened and for some we really aren't sure where
we are or where we are going. No matter where you find yourself today
remember it can be well with your soul. Put your hope in the one who is
the lover of your soul. Psalm 62:5 Have a wonderful day friends!

No Comparison
True story. I was talking to Lord early this morning about something and I said, "Lord when I get old..." and I started laughing before I could finish what I was saying. I then said Lord some people think I'm old but I'm not. Older than some, yes, but younger than some too. I'm poorer than some but I'm richer than some.
You know that's how life is. God tells us not to compare ourselves to others. No wonder or we would be totally confused. Lets just make a decision today to be just who we are. Older than some, been there done that. Younger than some, still have a lot of living to do! Have a great day being you and remember God loves you just the way you are!
